I offer a free initial phone consultation so that we can explore whether we seem likely to be a good fit for one another. Effective counseling draws on scientific knowledge, but ultimately it is very much an art, dependant on how well we are able to connect with one another. Since no therapist is right for every client, you might want to ask some questions about my professional approach or experience, or even ask some personal questions that are important to you. I'll do my best to give you an accurate sense of who I am and how I work. I may also ask you to tell me something about who you are, why you are seeking counseling at this time, and what goals you have in mind.
I have some clients that I meet with occasionally or even exclusively by phone or Zoom. This works well when we have already worked together in person and know one another well, but it can also be an option in some instances where in-person appointments are not possible. If telephone sessions are something you might need or prefer, let me know and we can discuss the possibilities.
